App crashed everything on macOS after installing the system extensions and rebooting, had to force reboot my Macbook... I thought: my god, it's really a long time ago, I encountered such a crap! Can't even remember, must be years - so theoretically it can be a coincidence, unlikely though. Rather compatibility problems with Ventura 13.4 running on Intel, the version if relatively new, and bad / no testing (it costs money obviously, not always easy for small indy developer). I had similar experiences (though not quite so bad) with their Mail Bridge app in the earlier developement stages, like it seems they're releasing betas without specifying them as such; and apart from that, I'm very experienced with macOS from IT point of view. So for now I'd say: better to leave it. IMHO it's not at all acceptable for a security sensitive application like a VPN, if it's not properly tested and buggy, up to the point where it kills my OS. It's a pity, because I like their ideals, and Proton Mail is working more / less ok (apart from some small bugs in the iOS versions).

Side Note: When choosing a VPN, never consider one located in any of the '14 Eyes' countries. All of them share surveillance data with one another when requested. IOW, your privacy is NOT guaranteed among any of these countries. The 14 Eyes countries are: (1) United States, (2) United Kingdom, (3) Canada, (4) Australia, (5) New Zealand, (6) Denmark, (7) France, (8) the Netherlands, (9) Norway, (10) Belgium, (11) Germany, (12) Italy, (13) Spain, and (14) Sweden. - - Also Note that privacy rights within other countries may also be compromised. Therefore, do some homework regarding a VPN service's documentation, saving and sharing of user activity, and verify they aren't lying. Some do indeed lie.

v4.6.0 is out. "Bug fixes and stability improvements." - Recent updates have been excellent. What hasn't been good is what's going on at the server level, at least from my POV. There have been apparent DDOS attacks on some exit nodes, even to the point of Proton taking them down. I'll not the same exact problem has been going on at FastestVPN as well. Dealing with it is a bit like playing Ping Pong. Keep trying for a better IP outlet, bounce between VPNs. But don't give up. Keep in mind that STILL, in the USA, ISPs are allowed to track every little thing you do on the Internet, then hand it off to the government, and/or sell-it / hand-it-off to anyone they like. Anyone! It happened in 2017. Gory details will be provided upon request. And yes, BOTH political parties signed off on it. So stick to your encryption! It's our right to privacy, blah ad nauseam. 😇
